Why did Cartmel Fields need a new website?
Cartmel Fields sells trackside camping to race fans. Fans search in a short window before each event. If the site does not appear at that moment, the booking goes elsewhere.
The old site was not earning that visibility. Every lost search was a lost booking. The business needed a site that ranked, loaded fast and worked on a phone in a field.
What did Insightful AI build?
We rebuilt the site end to end using our AI-assisted delivery method. The method has three parts, in a fixed order.
Plan and approve the copy first. We agreed the page structure and wrote the copy before any build. The client approved every word. This stops the build from drifting.
Build with AI, at speed. We used AI-assisted tools to build the site from the approved plan. The build took a fraction of the usual time.
Review independently before release. A separate AI code review checked every release for security, accessibility, performance, metadata and structured data. Structured data is code that tells search engines what a page is about. A human then approved each release.
Bookings route to a secure external ticketing platform. No payment data touches the site.
How does the governance work?
A website build is software delivery. We treat it that way. Every release had to pass three gates:
- Build gate: the code compiles and the site renders
- Review gate: an independent AI review checks security, accessibility, performance, metadata and structured data
- Approval gate: a named person signs off before anything goes live
No release skipped a gate. This is the same governance-led approach we apply to every AI system we build. It maps to the third stage of our Adoption Roadmap, establish governance, and follows the People, Process, Principles model.
What were the results?
| Measure | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Search clicks | Baseline before relaunch | Up more than 300% in the three months after relaunch |
| Search impressions | Baseline before relaunch | Up by a similar margin over the same period |
| Technical audit scores | Not compared | 96 to 100 across performance, accessibility, best practice and SEO |
| Release governance | Not compared | Build, independent review and human approval gates on every release |
| Payment data on the site | Not compared | None, bookings route to an external ticketing platform |

What we learned
Copy first, build second. Approved copy before a single line of code cut rework to near zero. It also meant the search structure was right from day one.
AI builds fast. AI review keeps it honest. The independent review caught issues the build tool did not flag. Neither works well without the other.
Keep payments off the site. Routing bookings to a ticketing platform removed a whole class of security risk. The site stays simple and fast.
Who is this for?
This approach suits any small business whose customers find it through search:
- Events, venues and campsites with seasonal booking windows
- Charities that rely on search for donations or sign-ups
- Local service businesses competing on Google
- Any organisation with an old site and no in-house developer
