Course overview
79% of UK charities use AI. Limited skills is now the single biggest barrier holding them back, cited by 56% of charities in 2026 and rising sharply from 43% the year before. A further 45% say they lack the training or support to upskill. Concerns about the accuracy of AI-generated answers have grown to 40%.
This half-day session gives your team the working knowledge to use AI tools confidently, safely, and within your charity's responsibilities. You will learn how AI actually works, stripped of the jargon, so you can judge when to trust its output and when to push back. We cover writing effective prompts, spotting fabricated information, understanding what happens to your data, and recognising where AI saves real time without creating new risks.
The course is built around your charity's own tools and workflows. We use your real tasks as worked examples. AI Fluency also meets the EU AI Act Article 4 AI literacy obligation, which has been binding since February 2025 and was left untouched by the 2026 Digital Omnibus reforms, and the Skills England AI Foundation Skills benchmark.
